Sports Stadium, Łącko

The history of sports sometimes begins with a symbolic coin. In Łącko, in 1947, that was the price paid for the land where the sports field was built. In 1946, the youth of Łącko formed a volleyball section on a makeshift court next to the parish house. Soon after, football games began on the meadows by the Dunajec River. At the end of 1947, the sports club KS “Zyndram” was founded. The first board was formed by the youth on their own initiative: Jan Bucyk, Wiesław Bogucki, Henryk Wiatr, Czesław Mozdyniewicz, and Marceli Franczyk. In the same year, the land intended for the sports field was purchased for a symbolic one zloty. In the 1950s, the team adopted the name “Łąckowianka.”

Development of sports structures

In 1948, a junior and youth section was established. In the following years, chess and table tennis sections were also created. The club achieved its greatest successes under the leadership of activists Kazimierz Arendzczyk, Henryk Dybiec, Janusz Klag, Stanisław Dybiec, and coaches Stanisław Lesiak and Andrzej Siekierka.

Crisis and Revival in the 1990s

In the 1980s, the club went through a crisis. The team ranked last in the “C” division, and the area where the pitch was located was slated to be turned into building plots. Stanisław Myjak, a football referee and former Zyndram player, seeing the danger of the club’s collapse, sought new people to help rebuild it. In 1996, a new board was appointed with Henryk Dybiec as president. As a result, the team was promoted from the “C” division to a higher league.

Stadium construction and new opening

At the end of August 1997, the construction of the stadium and locker rooms was completed. On September 16, 1997, the stadium was solemnly consecrated. At that time, the District Football Association honored Henryk Dybiec with the Silver Badge and Stanisław Dybiec with the Bronze Badge. In 1998, the club celebrated its 50th anniversary and was awarded the “Gold Badge of the National Council of Rural Sports Clubs (LZS)” along with a commemorative diploma.

Modernization of the field and infrastructure

In 2023, the modernization of the pitch was completed. Thanks to funding of 1,296,300 PLN from the “Sportowa Polska” program (with a total cost of nearly 3 million PLN), a modern synthetic turf was installed. The investment also included the installation of a ball-stop system and the reconstruction of lighting, enabling play after dark.

Sports infrastructure in Łącko

The stadium is located just beyond the center of Łącko, surrounded by mountains and next to the Czarna Woda stream. Within its grounds, there is a full-size football pitch, a locker room complex, and an Orlik sports area: a football pitch with synthetic turf and a multifunctional court.

Naming of the Stadium

On 5 July 2025, a ceremony was held at the stadium to bless the modernized facility, during which it was given the name: GLKS Zyndram Łącko Sports Stadium named after Henryk Dybiec.
